Expected changes for Trundle and Sejuani

The PBE has been updated with the highly anticipated Trundle and Sejuani relaunches!
Continue reading for a better look at the new models, updated kits, and rewritten lore for both of these champions, balance changes, and more!

( Reminder: PBE content is tentative and iterative. Everything you see is subject to change! )

Sejuani Relaunch
Base Sejuani

Sabretusk Sejuani

Darkrider Sejuani

Traditional Sejuani
Model doesn't exist in game just yet. Will update when it gets added.

"Queen" Sejuani To clear this up, this is NOT a new skin, sorry for the misinformation.

"Just to nip this in the bud, this isn't actually a Sejuani skin. It WAS, but it became the concept that informed her relaunch look." - Ququroon.

Updated Abilities:

Frost Armor ( Passive )
Arctic Assault ( Q )
Flail of the Northern Winds ( W )
Permafrost ( E )
Glacial Prison ( R )
Updated Lore:

"Sejuani was weaned on hardship and reared on barbarity. Where others succumbed to the harshness of the Freljord, she was tempered by it until pain became power, hunger an encouragement, and frost an ally in culling the weak.Through her ordeals, she learned that to thrive in the endless winter, one must become just as cold and unforgiving. In Sejuani's eyes, her followers either have the mettle to endure or the right to die.Once she has conquered the Freljord, she knows that those who survive will form a nation to be feared.

As a child, the leader of the Winter's Claw watched her tribe's numbers slowly dwindle.Cold and starvation took all but the most resilient. She was the only one of her siblings to survive to her tenth year, leaving Sejuani sure that she too would die in misery. In desperation, she sought spiritual counsel from her tribe's mystic. But the seer did not foretell Sejuani's death. Instead, she prophesized that Sejuani would one day conquer and unite the divided tribes of the Freljord.

Armored with absolute faith in her destiny, Sejuani pushed herself to extremes that would have killed anyone without her will to endure. She walked into blizzards without food or furs and trained while frigid winds raked her flesh. She clashed with the strongest warriors of her tribe, one after another, until her legs gave out beneath her. When she assumed leadership of her tribe, Sejuani commanded her warriors to follow her example.Under her rule, the tribe grew stronger than they had ever been.

In the end, it was an offer of peace - rather than an act of war - that began Sejuani's campaign of conquest. On the first day of winter, envoys from Ashe's tribe approached Sejuani's camp bearing a gift of Avarosan grain. Ashe's intent was clear: if Sejuani united with her tribe, the Winter's Claw would never go hungry again. To Sejuani, the gift was an insult. In Ashe's tribe, she saw men and women, slight and soft, who preferred to farm instead of fight. Her contempt for them was absolute.

Sejuani gathered her people and set the grain alight. She proclaimed that Ashe's offer of charity would bring only weakness. Stripping the envoys of their supplies, Sejuani sent them back with a message: the Winter's Claw would prove to the Avarosan that only the strong deserve to survive in the Freljord. As the grain burned behind them,Sejuani rode out with her warband to inflict the first of many painful lessons to come.

''I was cut from the ice, shaped in the storms, hardened in the cold.''

-- Sejuani

King's Tribute ( Passive )
Chomp ( Q )
Frozen Domain ( W )
Pillar of Ice ( E )
Subjugate ( R )
Updated Lore:

"Trundle is a hulking and devious troll with amischievous streak. There is nothing he can'tbeat into submission and bend to his will, noteven the ice itself. With his massive, frozenclub, he chills his enemies to the core andruns them through with jagged shards ofice.Fiercely territorial,Trundle chases downanyone foolish enough to enter his domainand laughs as they bleed onto the tundra.
Trundle's warband once followed a foolishand cowardly chieftain. Under such a weakleader, Trundle feared he and his kin wouldfall prey to the other troll hordes scatteredacross the tundra. When his challenge to thechieftain ended in humiliation,Trundle didsomething that wasn't very troll-like: insteadof his fists, he turned to his wits. Thinking onhis hairy feet, he spun a tall tale about thetroll leaders of old, claiming they wieldedweapons of great power as symbols of theirright to rule. Though he'd made up the storyon the spot, Trundle wagered that if he couldfind or steal such a weapon, he wouldbecome the rightful leader of the warband. Thetrolls believed him,but none thought himcapable of undertaking such achallenge.Knowing the boastful troll would dietrying, the foolish chieftain agreed and Trundledeparted to the familiar sound of laughter.
Alone but undaunted,Trundle ventured intothe foreboding realm of the dreaded IceWitch. There, hidden among the many ancientand dangerous secrets,he hoped to find aweapon to prove his elaborate tale. He out-muscled the Ice Witch's guards andoutsmarted her dark magic traps, but nothinghe scavenged matched the power he'ddescribed to his kin. Finally,he found anunexpected prize: a huge and magical club ofnever-melting True Ice.Grasping the weapon,he marveled at the cold power that ranthrough him. But then the wrathful Ice Witchherself appeared. As she summoned her darkmagic,Trundle believed he had met his end, butanother clever idea struck him. With aknowing grin,he offered the Ice Witch adevious proposition: a troll army, he toldher, would be of much more use to her thanone troll corpse....
When Trundle returned to the warband, hisfellow trolls bowed to his conquest. Calling hisweapon ''Boneshiver,'' he took a moment toenjoy the look of numb shock on hischieftain's face before he caved it in.Seizingcommand,Trundle announced that therewould no longer be chieftains - only a TrollKing before whom all of his kind wouldkneel. The trolls rallied behind their brash, new leader and prepared for the coming war. With Trundle leading the charge, the time of the trolls had finally come.
''Outsmart anyone you can't beat, and beatanyone you can't outsmart.''
-- Trundle"

Also, Ququroon has a few things to say about the Trundle Relaunch:
Ququroon's Avatar
Fresh, live, and coming at you- it's the Trundle Relaunch!
Please feel free to leave feedback in this thread regarding Trundle or any related bugs you encounter. Your feedback here will influence the changes we make, as well as aiding us in our future champion Relaunches.
In his Relaunch, Trundle is seeing a host of changes to a few different areas. An updated theme is in the spotlight here, with a respective new model, and accompanying animations, particle, sounds, and VO! As always, all of his skins have received a similar treatment, and will be bumped up to match the rockin' new look. Additionally, FeralPony has made a few tweaks to his kit as well, to help make him play a bit cleaner.

We're looking forward to any feedback you guys might have!

For more information on these changes, or to gain insight into why we did this, please see this thread: [pending]

Good ol' Morello set us up with some patch notes today. Be sure the check to read up on the Rune Price Changes and General Changes as well!

Elise
Elise has been rewarded too well for playing safely, so we shifted some of her power to her spider form to increase the reward for taking risks.

Neurotoxin
Cast range reduced to 625 from 650
Damage reduced to 40/80/120/160/200 from 50/95/140/185/230
Venomous Bite
Damage increased to 60/110/160/210/260 from 50/95/140/185/230Janna

Howling Gale
Fixed a bug where the knockup duration was not increasing based on charge time
Knockup duration when fully charged increased to 1 second from 0.75 secondsJarvan IV
Jarvan has been bringing too much utility to his team, so we've removed the armor component of Demacian Standard's aura.

Golden Aegis
Shield amount per nearby enemy champion increased to 20/30/40/50/60 from 20/25/30/35/40
Mana cost reduced to 45/50/55/60/65 from 65
Demacian Standard
Active no longer grants bonus Armor

Nami

Tidecaller's Blessing
Added new visual effects to better communicate the amount of charges left
Duration increased to 6 seconds from 5

Singed
Singed is intended to be incredibly durable and to gradually burn down his opponents in team fights. By making disables more effective against him and reducing his initial burst damage, Singed’s opponents now have more time and ways to deal with him in these situations.

Fling
Damage reduced to 80/125/170/215/260 from 100/150/200/250/300
Ability Power ratio reduced to 0.75 from 1.0
Insanity Potion
No longer reduces the duration of disablesTaric
Last patch's changes opened up different playstyles for Taric but did not effectively address his power level. These changes reduce Taric's lane dominance by lowering his burst damage and forcing him to make more tradeoffs when choosing which spells to level up.

Shatter
Damage reduced to 50/90/130/170/210 from 60/105/150/190/240

Active heal amount is now reduced by the target's Armor

- Aegis of the Legion

Combine cost reduced to 400 gold from 650 (total cost reduced to 2950 gold from 3200)
Health reduced to 300 from 400
Magic Resist aura reduced to 25 from 30
Aura grants an additional 50% Health Regen, Armor and Magic Resist for minions

- Locket of the Iron Solari
Locket of the Iron Solari is mainly picked up by junglers and supports, roles that most frequently earn less gold than others, for the team-wide active. We've reduced both the cost and personal stats on the item to lessen its gold impact while preserving its team utility.

Combine cost reduced to 520 gold from 670 (total cost reduced to 1850 gold from 2000)
Health reduced to 300 from 400

-Runaan's Hurricane

Secondary target radius increased to 375 from 300
Fixed a bug where Hurricane could target invisible enemies

Combine cost reduced to 365 gold from 425 (total cost reduced to 1200 gold from 1260)

- Trinity Force

Total cost reduced to 3843 gold from 3903 gold

- Lich Bane

Combine cost increased to 940 gold from 880 (total cost unchanged)

- Iceborn Gauntlet
We've noticed that, in general, champions who buy Iceborn Gauntlet are front-line champions with more emphasis on surviving than dealing AP burst damage. We've adjusted Iceborn Gauntlet's stats to accommodate this play case.

Combine cost increased to 700 gold from 640 (total cost unchanged)
Armor increased to 70 from 60
Ability Power reduced to 30 from 40

- Randuin's Omen

Attack Speed reduction reduced to 15% from 20%

- Seeker's Armguard

Ability Power reduced to 20 from 25

Runes
Continuing our efforts from Patch 3.02 to standardize cooldown reduction, we've slightly buffed Cooldown Reduction runes to provide less awkward stat amounts. For example, nine Tier-3 Scaling Glyphs of Cooldown Reduction previously provided 8.62% cooldown reduction at level 18, but will now provide an even 10%.

Cooldown Reduction and Cooldown Reduction per Level runes have been increased at all Tiers (varying from 2-35% increase)

Spectator Mode

Fixed a bug that would cause the spectator client to crash when using chat commands (ex: /joke, /taunt)

Restricted Chat Mode
In an effort to encourage active reform and shield players from toxicity, we’ve implemented a new account restriction that limits in-game chat for toxic players.

Certain players (identified by Tribunal and by Player Support) will have a limited number of in-game messages available and limited access to [All] Chat.
Restricted players that successfully complete matchmade games will earn their chat privileges back.

General

Ready checks no longer return players to the PvP.Net landing page

Zac! and Balance changes

The PBE has been updated with a rather large patch, containing a new champion and a new map!

Continue reading to check out Zac, the new ARAM map Howling Abyss, and more!

New Champion: Zac

Zac, our newest, gooey-est champion, is now available for PBE testing! He has no mana and instead uses his own health as a resource. He functions as tank / jungler and deals primarily magic damage with AP ratios on all four of his abilities.

Zac also grows total HP and shrinks based on his current HP. Here is a comparison from full to near death, starting with a little over 2k HP.

( Passive ) Cell Division - Each time Zac hits an enemy with an ability, he sheds a chunk of himself that can be reabsorbed to restore 4% of his maximum health.
Upon taking fatal damage, Zac splits into 4 bloblets that attempt to recombine.
If any bloblets remains after 6 seconds, he will revive with 10-50% health depending on the health of the surviving bloblets. Each bloblet has 10% of Zac's maximum health, and 50% of his Armor and Magic Resistance. This ability has a 5 minute cooldown.

(Q ) Stretching Strike - Smacks enemies, dealing 70/110/150/190/230 (+0.5) Magic Damage and slowing them for 20%/25/30/35/40 for 2 seconds.

Cost: 6% of current health || Cooldown: 9/8.5/8/7.5/7

( W ) Unstable Matter - Zac's body erupts, dealing 40/60/80/100/120 Magic Damage +4/4.5/5/5.5/6 (+.02 AP)% of the enemy's maximum Health as Magic Damage to all nearby enemies (Max: 200 damage against minions and monsters).

Cost: 4% of current health || Cooldown: 4/4/4/4/4 seconds

( E ) Elastic Slingshot - Charges up and launches toward a target area, knocking up enemies.Zac faces the cursor and charges up over 1 second. Reactivated the ability again launches him towards his target, dealing 80/130/180/230/280 (+0.7 AP) Magic Damage to all enemies hit and knocking them back for 0.5 seconds. Can be cancelled while moving.

Cost: 12% of current helath || Cooldown: 24/21/18/15/12 seconds

( R ) Let’s Bounce - Zac bounces 4 times, knocking up and slowing enemies.
Each bounce deals 160/240/320 (+0.25 AP) Magic Damage to nearby enemies, knocks them up for 1 second, and slows them by 20% for 1 second. Enemies hit more than once take half damage and are not knocked up or slowed. Zac gains an accelerating movement speed buff (20-50%) while active.
Zac can right-click to move while in the air.

Cost: No cost || Cooldown: 130/115/100 seconds

If the voice just wasn't enough for you, here is a preview of his animations and abilities.

While his release skin isn't in game yet, it's titled "Grumpy Zac" in the game files. How peculiar...

The new, recently announced ARAM map, titled Howling Abyss, is now available for PBE testing!
To access it, create a custom game and scroll down until you can select "Howling Abyss". The ARAM match making queue will be added at a later date.

Here is a quick video tour of the new map

There is also a new item, available exclusively to Howling Abyss, called Guardian's Horn.

As was true with the TTL update, there are also new shop keepers - The Viking and the Hermit!
New Purple Shop Keeper - Hermit
New Blue Side Shop Keeper - Viking

To read up on more red posts and see some sweet concept art, check the announcement post from earlier today.

If you are getting FPS drops and lag on the new map, don't fear! Brackhar says it isn't yet optimized:

"The current map is not really optimized; we'll be iterating on that now. :) "

Zac the secret weapon!

Beep Boop summoners!

The release of our next champion, Zac the Secret Weapon, is approaching and Riot has put up their official reveal.

Beautiful, a scientific masterpiece!

"Zac, the League’s hexchem-fueled Secret Weapon is about to hit the Fields of Justice. Playing this gelatinous champion means striking a balance between health-cost abilities and a unique regeneration mechanic. Here’s your first look at what this blob’s amorphous abilities bring to the table."Continue reading for an insight to Zac's ability kit, Gameplay and Lore! I must say, your inferior human minds are going to blow up when you see what's this science masterpiece is capable of:

ABILITIES
  • (Passive) Cell Division : When any of Zac’s abilities hit an enemy, a piece of him falls to the ground. Zac can pick up fallen pieces to recover health. When Zac dies he splits into four blobs. These fragments will attempt to reform over a short duration. If any survive, Zac revives with a percentage of his maximum health based on the number of remaining blobs.
  • ( Q ) Stretching Strike: Zac throws a two-handed punch that deals damage and slows targets in a line.
  • ( W ) Unstable Matter: Zac’s body explodes outward, dealing flat damage to surrounding enemies. Enemies struck also take damage based on their maximum health.
  • ( E ) Elastic Slingshot: Zac is immobilized as he charges up a dash toward the target location. The range of Elastic Slingshot increases up to a cap as Zac charges the ability. Zac then fires himself towards the target location, damaging and stunning all nearby enemies upon landing.
  • ( R ) Let’s Bounce: Zac bounces into the air, immediately knocking up, slowing and damaging nearby enemies. Once airborne, he bounces three times, dealing damage with each impact.
Who fed Flubber?

GAMEPLAY
Zac’s AoE damage and self-healing skills provide him with a lot of flexibility on the battlefield. His high level of sustainability makes him an ideal choice whether you’re tearing through the jungle or trading hits in top lane.
In the jungle: Zac’s combination of area damage and healing makes him a natural jungler. If you’re partial to early game aggression, starting with an early lizard buff and spending your second skill point in Elastic Slingshot can open early gank opportunities. Since Zac’s abilities have no mana cost, you might also consider donating an early golem buff to your AP carry. Once the action starts ramping up, you can make use of Elastic Slingshot’s massive range to create sneaky gank opportunities by circumventing popular ward locations.
Top-lane: Zac’s skillset also makes him excel in top lane. His AoE presence allows you to quickly clear waves from your turrets in high-pressure situations or shove the lane when you’re on the offensive. The healing mechanic on Cell Division also helps win exchanges with your lane opponent, allowing you to bully enemies back to base and create opportunities for counter-jungling or ganks. While you’re roaming, the mobility afforded by Elastic Slingshot can help you get the drop on an unsuspecting enemy or escape from sticky situations by hopping over terrain.
Team Fights: As the game progresses, Zac’s extreme mobility and strong crowd control make him a tremendous asset in team fights. With some patience and setup, you can use a fully channeled Elastic Slingshot to deploy Let’s Bounce from huge distances. Once you’re in the thick of it, the additional bounces from your ultimate let you pressure fragile, high-value targets, disrupting enemy positioning as you draw fire off less durable allies. Since every bounce of your ultimate yields healing chunks, you’ll also have the sustainability you need to keep up the attack. If the opposing team making aggressive moves, you can opt to use the knock-up and slow from Let’s Bounce defensively, creating valuable space for the rest of your team to safely disengage. Whether you’re initiating or counter-initiating, Zac has ample crowd control to keep your team out of trouble.
Heart touching

LORE

Zac is the product of a Zaun experiment to manufacture a hexchem-engineered supersoldier – the Zaun Amorphous Combatant. Combining brute strength with limitless flexibility, he is a versatile juggernaut: a creative fighter who bounces over obstacles and pounds his foes into submission. Though he was created inside a weapons laboratory, Zac was rescued and adopted by two loving parents who raised him to be a kind and friendly child. As the years passed, he grew up to be a fierce hero, sworn to protect the ordinary, everyday people of Zaun.

Long ago, two Zaun scientists developed an organic substance that could withstand extreme conditions, spontaneously alter its biological structure, and generate tremendous amounts of kinetic force. As the scientists, husband and wife, watched the prototype grow from a spoon-sized droplet to a small blob, they noticed that their creation would respond to their presence. It sprung forward when they called and bounced when they sang. The couple began to see more than an experiment; they saw a small child, filled with affection and joy.

After testing the prototype one evening, the scientists placed the blob back in its cage. It slouched and shuddered in the corner, inconsolably sad. At that moment, the couple realized that their beloved creation wished for a free life outside the lab. They were struck by their conscience and could not allow the prototype to be used as a weapon. The husband and wife fled with the young blob, replacing its weapon designation – Zaun Amorphous Combatant – with a proper name: Zac. In a quiet neighborhood far from the cities of Zaun, the scientists raised Zac as their own child.

Zac was always different from the other children. None had his powers of strength and flexibility, so the couple taught him to tell right from wrong and to use his gifts responsibly. Thanks to the care and affection of his loving parents, Zac lived a peaceful, happy childhood.

That childhood ended when the Zaun laboratory finally found Zac. Unable to replicate the formula used to create the amorphous prototype, the laboratory’s staff never stopped searching for the scientists and their experiment. When they tracked down the family, they threatened to tear it apart. The staff abducted Zac’s parents and demanded that the couple assist in his capture and return. Seized by the fear of losing his freedom and his parents, Zac unleashed every ounce of his raw energy and mass for the very first time. He subdued his parents’ captors, sent the laboratory’s workers fleeing, and brought his loved ones home. From then on, Zac vowed to defend all ordinary lives threatened by extraordinary treachery and wickedness. Originally built to destroy, he nowprotects the innocent and the helpless.

“Even if you don’t have a spine, you still have to stand up for yourself.” -- Zac

PBE Headhunter Nidalee

The PBE has been updated!

( Warning: PBE content is highly tentative and subject to change! Some of this information may have been datamined and could likely be erroneous. )
Headhunter Nidalee
Headhunter Nidalee's cougar model made it's way into this patch, as did her new trap particle. Human form is in there too but going to have to wait until the servers come up for that one.

Here the the previous iterations of this patch cycle, just in case you need to catch up.

Lissandra? o.O

In the 3/6 PBE patch, Riot implemented a set of new files that deal with customizing recommended items. The files has a set of files for each champion, including the recently teased "Zac" ( could still be working name ), and LISSANDRA.

For those who might not be aware, Lissandra ( titled " Ice Dervish" in the lore ) is one of the three Princesses of Freljord - the other two being Ashe and Sejuani. She is an extremely popular lore figure and summoners have been waiting to see her join the League for ages now.

There isn't any other information besides the name. Be warned this could all be tentative, scrapped, or whatever. All we really know is her name is in the files.

Zaun Amorphous Experiment (New Champion)

Two mysterious new images have popped up on the forums. Entitled "Zaun Amorphous Experiment" these images seem to hint that Zaun ( a city state like Ionia or Demacia ) is up to something quite dastardly. Might this be a hint at our next champion? ;)

The image file names read ZAC which standing for Zaun Amorphous Combatent, but it's unclear if that will be this champion's name. ( EDIT: File name got changed to something boring. )

This would also explain the living ooze the squirms into a trap in the recently released Mac client video.

Heck, we could even jump to more conclusions and guess this is also tied to Grumpy Monkey's forum avatar.

Just like Quinn and Valor, I would expect a series of images for this little guy over the next couple of days.

New Feature. AFKERS

Redditor Superevenro stumbled on something interesting while playing on the PBE; Summoner's who afk and do not select a champion during champion select will dodge the game.

rjcombo posted a response on reddit, confirming the feature and saying:

"Well this was unexpected! I'm curious how you came about that screenshot.
Yes, I can confirm this feature is happening, along with a few details:

A queue dodge penalty will be applied to players who fail to select a champion. The penalty functions the same way as a standard queue dodge from closing the client.
Solo players who did select a champion are returned to the front of the matchmaking queue.
Arranged teams are handled the same way as with a failed ready check. If all members selected a champion, the team is re-queued. If any member failed to select a champion, the team is sent back to the arranged team lobby.
Draft mode is handled on a pick-by-pick basis. The game terminates when a player's pick timer has expired without a champion selected. Players with later picks are given the benefit of the doubt.
The feature is still a work in progress so I can't commit to a launch date on PBE or Live."
RiotDamiya also chimed in

"Please note this isn't feature isn't active just yet. I promise you that those of us that worked on it are just as eager to see it out the door as you folks are! :)"
